Students from the Wodonga Senior Secondary College Student Leadership council took part in a defensive driving course at the DECA (Driver Education Centre of Australia), Logic centre Barnawartha.
Students were learnt about road rules, technology that was keeping them safe on the roads and how to use ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and DSC ( Dynamic Stability Control).
Throughout the day the students participated in various driving practical activities including steering and braking simultaneously at speed, braking with and without ABS engaged and experiencing first-hand the impact on your stopping distances when you reduce your speed by only 5kmh.
All students involved had a fantastic day at DECA, learning valuable skills that will assist them when driving on the roads in our community and we highly recommend it to other students.

The College will be running this program again next year, this will be open to WSSC students. For more information contact the College: (02) 60437500.
