On the 17th March, Wodonga Senior Secondary College was proudly represented by five students at the 2023 Hume Region Swimming Championships. Our performance at this event and our results on the day will see two students representing us at State level.
Abbey Freeman had a terrific day in the pool with podium finishes in all of her events. The highlight of her day was a victory in the Women’s 16-20 years 100m Freestyle event! Abbey’s magnificent performances saw her becoming the 18-20 years Women’s Age Champion with a total of 41 points. Well done Abbey!
Sophie Payne also had a great day in the pool. Sophie had podium finishes in all of the events she participated in and won the Women’s 18-20 years 50m Freestyle Event. Her impressive results put her in 5th place for the 18-20 years Women’s Age Champion. Congrats Sophie!
Both girls have made it through to the 2023 SSV State Swimming Championships and will be representing WSSC in Melbourne at the 2023 SSV State Swimming Championships on Friday 28th April.
A big congratulations to Judd Gavrilovic, Natasha Hall and Bianca Hall. Their impressive swims on the day contributed to WSSC having a combined total of 116 points which ranked us 11th out of 32 schools that competed. It was an amazing achievement to even reach this far. Thank you for making WSSC proud!
