Annually the group of students and staff hold several events with a trip to the snow being a highlight for most, this year with the support of many businesses, community groups and individuals 35 students from the EAL group\u00a0traveled to Falls Creek for a ski trip on Thursday, 13<sup>th<\/sup> of September.<\/p>\n<p>Jo Prothero, Falls Creek Resort Management kindly hosted the our Multicultural Peer Support Program students as guests of Falls Creek for a day of snow play\u00a0free of charge. Students learn&#8217;t how to ski with the help of\u00a0Michael Jowett and Warren Sanders from YMCA Howmans Gap Alpine Centre who also provided the ski gear for students for free.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-28678\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wssc.vic.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/20180913_120303low-1024x560.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"806\" height=\"441\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wssc.vic.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/20180913_120303low-1024x560.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.wssc.vic.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/20180913_120303low-300x164.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.wssc.vic.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/20180913_120303low-768x420.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 806px) 100vw, 806px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Students from the EAL peer support group at Falls Creek<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This amazing opportunity has greatly benefited our EAL students, creating valuable connections with the community and experiencing Australian snowfields and learning a new skill along the way. Our students can apply this positive learning and language experience to their studies, especially in developing their English language skills and bring these experiences back to their community groups.<\/p>\n<p>It was Year 10 EAL student Junior Toga&#8217;s first time at the snow &#8220;This was a great experience to have, being able to explore the region and get to know our group better&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Our\u00a0College is extremely grateful for the generosity of these people and organisations in supporting our students, as they all as a group would not have access to such an event without this help.
