This weeks quote is an important one. Take the time to read it again.
\nComing into Term 3 you may be feeling a little overwhelmed. If you keep moving forward every day you will eventually get to that place you want to be.
\nWhere is that place for you? Is it an apprenticeship? TAFE or University? Employment? Overseas travel?
\nSome days we take giant leaps toward our goals, and some days we crawl slowly but each day you move you\u2019re getting closer to that goal. Take some time to reflect on your progress and revisit your goals.<\/p>\n

IT\u2019S TAX TIME!<\/strong><\/p>\n

We have had a lot of students in the Careers@WSSC Headquarters enquiring about tax file numbers, tax returns and superannuation lately. But what exactly is all this?
\nTax File Numbers (TFN)<\/strong> – Everyone has a unique TFN. Your TFN is yours for life, even if you change jobs, move interstate or change your name. If you leave the country and later come back to Australia, you still use the same TFN.<\/p>\n

When you make enquiries about your tax records, the Australian Taxation Office will ask you for your TFN. TFN is valuable. Do not share it with friends and do not provide it over the internet when applying for jobs. Tax Returns<\/strong> – At the end of the financial year (June 30) you\u2019re expected to fill in a tax return to work out how much tax you should have paid that year. If it turns out you\u2019ve paid more tax than you needed to, you could be entitled to a refund or you haven\u2019t paid enough Tax you may have to pay a Tax bill. \nSuperannuation – Super is money that is paid by your employer into a super account of your choice.
\nDepending on your superannuation fund conditions you can access your superannuation when you retire. Super is paid in addition to your salary. You can also add to your super from your own money!<\/p>\n

Super is paid whether you are full-time, part-time or casual. You should be paid super if you are:
\n\u2022 aged 18 or over and earn at least $450 a month (before tax), or
\n\u2022 aged under 18, work at least 30 hours a week and earn at least $450 a month (before tax).
