{"id":34547,"date":"2021-07-27T16:34:59","date_gmt":"2021-07-27T06:34:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wssc.vic.edu.au\/?p=34547"},"modified":"2021-07-27T16:35:26","modified_gmt":"2021-07-27T06:35:26","slug":"return-to-on-site-learning-277","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wssc.vic.edu.au\/?p=34547","title":{"rendered":"Return to On-Site Learning 27\/7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi everyone,<br \/>\nAs was announced by the Premier, Dan Andrews,\u202fall students\u202fVictoria can begin to return to school on\u202fWednesday the 28th of July.\u202fAll WSSC students will return on this day.<br \/>\nIt will mean a return to normal schooling albeit with a few changes. Bell times remain the same, uniform requirements remain the same and your classes remain the same<\/p>\n<p>You no doubt have loads of questions on how this is going to work. Hopefully most of these will be answered below.<br \/>\nThis\u202finformation is correct as at\u202f27\/7\/2021\u202fand\u202fmay change as new directives\u202fcome from the Chief Medical Officer of Victoria, the Victorian Government\u202fand the Education Department.<\/p>\n<p>A reminder that the Delta variant is much more transmissible and much more prevalent in young people so we are required to be more vigilant this time around.<\/p>\n<h2>WSSC Return to Face to Face Learning\u202fQ &amp; A<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What is the timetable going to look like?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will be running the normal school\u202ftimetable\u202ffor all students. That means you will attend all your classes 3 times a week as you did prior to remote learning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about GP?<\/strong><br \/>\nGP classes will be run in your timetabled classrooms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will all the teachers be there?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes\u00a0all teachers\u202fwill be at school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will I have to wear a face mask?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes.\u202fStudents must bring their own mask from home.\u202fStudents will\u202fhave to\u00a0wear a mask\u00a0at all times. Teachers\u00a0are able to\u00a0remove their masks when they are instructing the class.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is happening about the GAT?<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wssc.vic.edu.au\/?p=34543\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article-int', 'http:\/\/www.wssc.vic.edu.au\/?p=34543', 'The\u202fYear 12\u202fGAT\u202fhas been postponed to the 12th of August\u00a0\u00a0and the Year 10 &amp; 11 trial GAT has\u202fbeen\u00a0cancelled.']);\" >The\u202fYear 12\u202fGAT\u202fhas been postponed to the 12th of August\u00a0\u00a0and the Year 10 &amp; 11 trial GAT has\u202fbeen\u00a0cancelled.<\/a>\u00a0This Thursday\u00a0the 29<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of July\u00a0will be a normal school day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is Friday still a pupil free day?<\/strong><br \/>\nNo! The Federation of Government Schools conference has been cancelled. It will be a normal school day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about SAC\u2019s\/SAT\u2019s<\/strong><br \/>\nYour teachers will communicate with you the arrangements for\u202fthese.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is in place at the school to ensure our safety?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe same protocols as last time will be\u202fin place to ensure student and staff safety.\u202fThese are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All school gates will be open at the beginning and end of the day to reduce the risk of congregation.<\/li>\n<li>Students will be required to avoid physical\u202fcontact wherever possible.<\/li>\n<li>Hand sanitiser will be available at the entrances of all buildings. Students will be expected to use this each time they enter.<\/li>\n<li>Hand sanitiser will be available in all classrooms. Students will be expected to use it when they enter.<\/li>\n<li>Social distancing measures will be put in place wherever practical.\u202fEg: canteen queue, front office.<\/li>\n<li>Cleaners will be on site during the day to sanitise high touch areas.<\/li>\n<li>Fresh air circulation has been increased in the main building. Where possible doors and windows in other buildings will be left open.<\/li>\n<li>Students will be expected to sanitise their desk and chair before they sit down at their desk.\u202fCleaning products will be supplied.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Are we expected to be social distancing?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, wherever possible. Students will be expected to do whatever they can to maintain social distance. This will not always be possible in classes but the college is wishing to do everything we can to ensure the safety of everybody, so we will be asking students to help with this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will we be using MS Teams or will class be back to normal?<\/strong><br \/>\nClasses will be returning to normal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about mobile phones?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe mobile phone policy remains in place. We require\u202fstudents to put their phone in their locker. We do not encourage students leaving their phones in their bags when they take their bag to class as we will not be able to guarantee its security.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about the canteen?\u202f<\/strong><br \/>\nThe canteen will be open.
