YEAR 12 STUDENT AND PARENT/GUARDIAN PLANNING FOR 2016 AND BEYOND:
Hi all
There are a number of events coming up this month that may be very helpful for students and their families planning University or TAFE studies. The events are:

FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS:
1. TERTIARY INFORMATION EVENING AT ALBURY ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE TUESDAY JUNE 16 6.00 PM TO 8.00 PM Click here to download the invitation
What’s involved:
a. Displays and conversations with many Victorian and NSW Tertiary providers including:
Charles Sturt Uni Latrobe Uni Wodonga TAFE Riverina TAFE Deakin Uni Macquarie Uni ANU ACU AAIE Wollongong Uni Federation Uni Photography Studies College ……. And more
b. Presentations from:

1. Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) from 6.00 pm to 6.45 pm.
This presentation gives an overview of application processes for Victorian TAFE’s and universities
2. Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) from 7.00 pm to 7.45 pm
This presentation gives an overview of application processes for NSW and Canberra TAFEs and Universities

What you need to do:

2. ON PARENT-TEACHER EVENING THURSDAY JUNE 25: DISCUSSION OF FINANCIAL ISSUES FOR STUDENTS:
• STAYING AT HOME TO STUDY
• MOVING AWAY FROM HOME TO STUDY
Presenter is Ilena Young from Charles Sturt University
Ilena will be available in the Board Room between 5.00 pm and 6.30 pm and do brief presentations at 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm.
FOR STUDENTS:
1. TERTIARY INFORMATION DAY: WEDNESDAY JUNE 17 AT ALBURY ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE
A huge range of exhibitors representing Victorian TAFEs, Universities, employers and employment agencies will provide information and discuss your needs with you.
Details: A bus will leave school at 10.30 am. You will return by 12.15 pm and catch most of period 3.
What you need to do: return a consent form and $7 (bus $5 and entry $2) to the office by June 10
2. EXPERIENCE LATROBE UNIVERSITY DAY FRIDAY JUNE 19
Students are given an overview of Latrobe University life and course offerings.
Latrobe University pays for: bus, morning tea and bus
What you need to do: Register for the event and select your workshops:
http://www.latrobe.edu.au/experience/events/experience-la-trobe-events/albury-wodonga-program
and return a consent form to the office.
Parents may also attend this event.
OTHER IMPORTANT DATES:
EARLY ENTRY: This is an excellent opportunity for a student to be accepted into a course before ATAR scores are released. You may get into a course with well less than the ATAR you might need otherwise.
Some local Early Entry opportunities
Latrobe Uni Aspire: This opens on Monday June 1 and closes on July 27. Jessica Watt from Latrobe will be at school on Monday June 8 to assist students with their applications. Some preliminary information:

Charles Sturt Uni PREP: This opens August 5 and close date isn’t published as yet.
You will be advised of dates for other University’s Early Entry programs as they arise.
