Congratulations to Year 12 students Aleisha Griffin and Luke Runciman, who were elected by their peers to represent them as their College captains for 2020. The captains will have a busy year ahead, aiming work closely with our Student Leadership Council to help organise events and programs that will benefit and engage our students.
Our 2020 College captains, Aleisha Griffin and Luke Runciman
Aleisha and Luke are looking forward to the multitude of opportunities that come with being our captains, including the opportunity to support their cohort and provide them with a voice.
“I think it’s really important for students to get their voice heard within the school and being school captain is a really good platform to not only to have our own voices heard, but also learn what other students want to gain from their own education.” Said Aleisha.
Both students have been heavily involved in a range of programs and extra-curricular activities since commencing their Senior Secondary education at our College in 2018, from participating in community groups to speaking at whole school events such as our own ANZAC Day ceremonies. Our captains are looking forward to continuing their involvement within our vibrant community and help to engage others in the broad range of unique opportunities that are available at our College.
Being a College captain enables our students to not only assist in providing representation in consultative groups, but also give back to the school that has helped them to grow as individuals. “I’m very grateful for the position and look forward to serving the school.” Said Luke
We would like to congratulate Aleisha and Luke once again on being elected by the student body to be our 2020 College captains and look forward to working closely with them over the next 12 months.
