Big congratulations to Juniper from Wodonga Senior Secondary College, who is officially kicking off a career journey by stepping into the culinary world as a Head Start SBAT apprentice chef at Church St Hotel, Wodonga.

After a standout work experience placement (and casual work with several local hospitality employers), Juniper has earned this opportunity. Now, each Wednesday, Juniper will be cutting it up in the kitchen literally while studying a Certificate III Commercial Cookery qualification at Wodonga TAFE. For Juniper this means getting a head start on their career they are passionate about, all while completing Year 12.
Employer Stacey shared, “Juniper is a great young person helpful, warm, and already bringing a spark to the business.” Juniper added, “I’m so excited to have this opportunity.”
And Head Start SBAT Coordinator Shane said he “can’t wait to try Juniper’s culinary creations.”
A huge thank you to Stacey, Head Chef Matt, and the incredible team at Church St Hotel for championing young people stepping into their futures. Thanks also to Mel at Busy At Work, Juniper’s family, WSSC Vet Hospitality and the WSSC Careers Team for helping make this opportunity a reality.
