To the families of WSSC students,

Thank you for supporting your young people this week following the tragic death of one of our students over the weekend.

Coming into the weekend, we have encouraged students to take time for themselves and to talk to the safe adults in their lives about how they are feeling. Because of this, we thought it would be timely to send out some more information about what families can do when a student at their child’s school dies by suicide. Please click here

Remember that the following phone lines and instant messaging supports are also available 24/7 for free confidential support for your young people:

– eheadspace: www.headspace.org.au/eheadspace or 1800 650 890
– Kids Helpline: www.kidshelpline.com.au or 1800 55 1800
– Lifeline: www.lifeline.org.au or 13 11 14

If you are worried about your young person experiencing suicidal thoughts, please phone the Albury Wodonga Health mental health triage line on 1300 104 211.

In an emergency, always phone 000.

Thank you again, WSSC staff.
