Event Program

Join us for a range of information sessions and opportunities to speak with staff and current students about the opportunities available at our College.

Subject Displays & Information

Wodonga Senior Secondary College has the broadest range of subjects in the region. Come along to WSSC ‘On Show’ and see these subjects on display. You will be able to access additional information and speak with the subject specialists at the College. Current and previous students will be available to talk about their experience of the subject and future pathways.

College Tours

Wodonga Senior Secondary College has outstanding teaching and learning facilities. The best way to see and experience these facilities is to participate in a personalised College tour. While touring the College, you will also be able to appreciate the supportive and aspirational culture of the Senior College. A tour is also an excellent opportunity to ask any questions that you may have about the College.

Year 10 Information Session

This session will provide excellent information on the following:

  • Senior College philosophy
  • Benefits of a later years focus
  • 3-year VCE Model
  • New Senior School Certificate VCE
  • Workplace opportunities

Understanding the NEW VCE: Many Talents, One VCE

Would you like to know more about the certificate your child is currently completing? Attend this session to learn about the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM). This will include what your child is required to complete to receive their certificate and the pathways that might follow.

This session will cover the course structure at WSSC where VCE and VCE VM is completed over 3 years. It will also include some information about the VET certificates on offer at WSSC through the VCE and VCE VM.

Supporting Health & Wellbeing

Our school wellbeing team will provide you with some practical strategies for supporting the mental health and wellbeing of your child.

African Workshop

This workshop will be translated in Swahili.

  1. Ziara ya Chuo ‘’Pamoja na Nelson na Grace’’ (‘College Tour’ with Nelson and Grace)
  2. Kusaidia afya ya akili na ustawi yam toto wako. (‘Supporting the Mental Health and Wellbeing of your child’)

Career Conversations

Learn the art of having a ‘Career Conversation’ at home. This session will give you the tools and resources you need to learn the very important skill of talking about post-school options. This session is great for students and parents/carers!

Accessing VCE Study Resources

Among other things, the COVID-19 lockdowns have resulted in a gap in educational outcomes between metropolitan and rural/regional students. To help bridge this gap, there are a wide variety of free educational resources available to our students. This session will give you an overview of these resources, how and when they can be accessed, and how they can help students to achieve their full academic potential without any additional financial outlay.

Parent Carer Forum

We highly value your opinion and strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment for your children. To help us understand your perspective and gather your valuable feedback please attend our Parent/Carer Forum to have a conversation with us.
