Congratulations to our Year 11 student Nicholas Mousley who recently competed as the Victorian team Captain at the 2023 Australian Schools Orienteering Championships.

Year 11 student Nicholas Mousley after returning from the national competition.

Nicholas captained a team of 13 school-aged competitors across Years 7-12 that were representing Victoria. Across 9 days in held in Western Australia, the team competed in a range of events which consisted of sprint, long form and relay courses that range from 15 minutes to an hour to complete.

Placing 3rd across all competitors in Australia as part of the sprint event on the last day of competition was a highlight for Nicholas, leaving the event with his head held high and eyes set on next year’s competition. This was an amazing effort, especially after injuring his ankle earlier in the week.

This is only his second year competing in the Victorian Schools team and hopes to represent the state again next year when he is in Year 12.

Congratulations Nicholas, what an amazing achievement!
