This year’s Future Ready Festival was a huge success, an interactive, inclusive, and completely free event for all our students!
Students had the chance to connect with an incredible mix of local cultural groups, community organisations, and educational institutions. Highlights included the beautiful First Nations Weaving workshops, creative Henna Art, and the vibrant Filipino Dancing.

They also explored career and community pathways with the support of Halve Waste, the Men’s Shed, local TAFEs and universities, and the inspiring team from Windbreak 3690 Youth Space.
For hands-on fun, students loved meeting the animals at the Hay Ho Petting Zoo and getting creative at The Cats Pyjamas jewellery and craft stations.
A major highlight was seeing our own VM students step up and host their very own stands, from Bean Boozled, Keys Cuts, Nail Bar, Big Games, Wall Mural, Basketball Shoot Out, Mosaics, Mindfulness, Wheel of Fortune, through to Guess the Total – all while DJ Jaylem set the vibe for the day.
Of course, no festival is complete without food and treats and the BBQ, ice creams, drinks, and popcorn stations kept everyone fuelled and smiling throughout the event.
These collaborations not only showcased the incredible talent and resources within our community, but also gave our students valuable insights into future careers, skills, and life beyond school.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and expertise. Together, we created something truly special for our students and the wider community.
