Kestrel Apprentice Solutions employs trainees and apprentices across a broad variety of trades and vocations including Carpentry, Cabinet Making, Tiling, Plastering, Floor Technology, Plumbing, Electrical, Commercial Cookery, Hairdressing, Engineering (Fabrication and Mechanical), Electro-Technology, Automotive Mechanical (Light and Heavy Vehicle), Horticulture, Business Administration, Hospitality, Retail, IT, Sport & Recreation and many other areas.
Depending on your chosen trade, an apprenticeship is for a duration of 3 or 4 years. It involves a combination of on the job training and skills development and off-the-job training (TAFE). In some cases TAFE training can be delivered flexibly on the job and in others, the apprentice is required to attend on-campus training. Upon successful completion of an apprenticeship you will receive a Certificate III Qualification.
Traineeships are usually for a duration of 1-2 years and involve a combination of on the job training and skills development and theory –based training. Trainees usually receive flexible, on the job training delivery from TAFE, with the opportunity to attend campus based workshops as required.
A Traineeship usually leads to a Certificate III qualification. In some cases Traineeships are offered at Certificate IV level.
Traineeships are available to Gap Year Students and may also provide a career pathway into a trade.
Part-time, School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships are also available for students undertaking Years 10, 11 and 12.
