RE: Potential non progression into Year 12 2018

Wodonga Senior Secondary College (WSSC) has the motto “Every Student, Every Opportunity, Success for All” which reflects our desire for every student to achieve their best.

After a thorough review of your child’s academic performance during Semester 2 this year, it has been identified that he/she has not yet demonstrated the necessary skills to guarantee progression into Year 12 in 2018.

The data from GPA5 indicated that your child received a significant number of Early Warning Notices, indicating that they will gain non-Satisfactory completion for multiple subjects unless immediate corrective action is taken. Due to the minimum number of units and sequences required for successful completion of the VCE qualification, without immediate intervention, it is unlikely that your child will be eligible to complete their VCE in 2018.

In order to successfully progress into Year 12 for 2018, your child will need to complete all outstanding work requirements to a satisfactory level by Friday 10th November.

If the above Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority (VCAA) requirements are not met, the consequence will be to undertake Year 11 course again in 2018 or discuss alternative educational pathways.

I urge you to discuss your child’s requirements and circumstances as necessary with your teachers, Graduate Program Teacher and Year Level Coordinators Mr North or Ms Wattie.

Wishing you every success,
Matt Moylan
Assistant Principal
Wodonga Senior Secondary College

Regards,
