Academic Advancement Program

Wodonga Senior Secondary College proudly offers the Academic Advancement – English and Mathematics (AAP) as an accelerated learning opportunity in Year 10. AAP is designed to enhance the learning of students with high educational aspirations.

Students accepted into AAP have the option of doing Advanced English or Mathematics or both as well as VCE Unit 1 & 2 Industry and Enterprise and 3 x VCE Unit 1 & 2 elective choices.

The benefits of studying Advanced subjects are:

  • Developing a deeper understanding of the subject;
  • Setting up solid study habits that will help students excel in Year 11 & 12; and
  • Being challenged and more prepared to pursue harder subjects in VCE.

Students currently enrolled in AAP at WMYC can transfer into the program at WSSC by selecting the Advanced subjects.

Students who would like to experience the benefits of WSSC AAP and who are not currently in the AAP at WMYC need to select the Advanced subjects they wish to be in.

Wodonga Senior Secondary College will work with you to assess your suitability to the program. This will include reviewing student assessment data.
